If Manchester United are going to get anything out of this match against Manchester City, where they find themselves 1-0 down and down to ten men with a little over half an hour to go, they're going to have to rely on the genius of Wayne Rooney to get them going. The England man unlocks the City defence with a pass wide to Nani, Ashley Young receives the ball in the centre and in space and... well he completely miskicks it, and the subsequent clearance hits the former Aston Villa winger and bounces out of play.
City respond by nearly scoring, with James Milner driving in a near-perfect cross that Sergio Aguero can't quite figure out what to do with, opting to miss it completely with his foot rather than head the ball into the back of David de Gea's net. That was a little bit silly. Anyway, there's a series of United corners as the hosts try to put the pressure on but they don't really come to much and it's still 1-0 City.
