Real Salt Lake Vs. Seattle Sounders Live, MLS Cup Playoffs 2011: Close Call For Seattle As Backpass Goes Awry

Stay connected with SB Nation

If this game keeps up in this vein, Real Salt Lake are going to come away with a three or four goal win. The Seattle Sounders have started pretty poorly here, coughing up the ball too easy and then giving their hosts far too much space in possession. They're also committing basic errors - a terrible backpass by Jhon Kennedy Hurtado almost releases Fabian Espindola but Hurtado is just about able to get back to cover.

A series of RSL corners ensues, finally broken up by Seattle forward Fredy Montero dropping back to retrieve the situation. This isn't really going well so far for the visitors, but good work by Sammy Ochoa and Alvaro Fernandez has led to an interesting free kick in a dangerous position. What can the Sounders do from this? Answer: Not much, although RSL's defence wasn't particularly convincing there either.
