When Jamison Olave and Nat Borchers are in the center of defense for Real Salt Lake, they are really tough to get by. The two make up the best center back pairing in MLS, but that pairing is falling my the wayside. Olave has already gone off, heading to the bench in the first half with a right quad strain. Now, Borchers looks like he's in trouble too. It's not clear what he injured, but he started limping around in the 79th minute and now the center of Salt Lake's defense looks really shaky.
RSL's top backup centerback, Chris Schuler, already came into the game for Olave and has been strong. If Borchers goes down too though, they're in trouble. That would probably push Robbie Russell inside and Will Johnson to right back. That is hardly what they want while trying to protect a 2-0 lead in this playoff contest.
