If the fans at Rio Tinto were throwing a party before, they most certainly are now. That's because Ned Grabavoy has come in with another goal for Real Salt Lake, putting them ahead 3-0 in this conference semifinals first leg against the Seattle Sounders. Alvaro Saborio did the work on the first two goals to get his brace and now Grabavoy has Salt Lake looking primed to head to Seattle for Wednesday's second leg with a three-goal advantage.
Once again, Seattle did a terrible job defending. They've been a mess at the back all match, only to be saved time and again by Kasey Keller, but he couldn't save them this time. The ball bungled around until it found Grabavoy on the right. He cut back in and ripped a shot that left Keller helpless. Now, Seattle might be helpless as they trail by three goals. Meanwhile, Salt Lake is going to start eying that Western Conference final, but first they have a second leg to play. The way that the Sounders played tonight though, there's no indication that they have any chance at all of making a comeback.
