Turkey Vs. Croatia, Euro 2012 Qualifying, Playoffs: Ivica Olic Opens Scoring For Croatia.

Stay connected with SB Nation

Well that was a blinding start for Croatia. The visitors have gone ahead through a well worked (and immensely poorly defended) goal in the opening two minutes, which has rather solidified their status as favourites to emerge from their Euro 2012 playoff round against Turkey. It was all too easy for Croatia, who took advantage of some astonishingly bad play from Gokhan Gonul - Vedran Corluka skipped clear of a woeful challenge and had all the time in the world to lay in a dangerous low cross.

Turkey goalkeeper Volkan Demirel managed to get a touch, but it wasn't enough to divert the ball away from Bayern Munich frontman Ivica Olic, who had an extremely easy finish from two yards to open the score. So, Croatia lead 1-0 on aggregate and have an away goal. If they can get a second the tie will be virtually over.
