Bosnia-Herzegovina Vs. Portugal Live, Euro 2012 Qualifying Playoffs: 0-0 At Halftime

Stay connected with SB Nation

Portugal have been largely the better team in Sarejavo but they and Bosnia go into the halftime level at 0-0, with that largely being the fault of Cristiano Ronaldo wasting a huge chance in the 26th minute, allowing Adnan Zahirovic the time to block after Pepe had released him on the left. Bosnia haven't really been bad and have had a decent amount of the ball (although ESPN Soccernet's figure of 77% possession for the hosts seems more than a little bit suspicious), but Edin Dzeko's not having much luck in breaking through Portugal's back line and there have been a grand total of zero shots for Rui Patricio to deal with.

That's not to say there haven't been scary moments for the visitors, however - Patricio has contrived to virtually drop the ball on a Bosnian foot twice already on routine catches, and if I were coaching Bosnia I'd be strongly advising players to take pops from range and then have supporting players try to mop up the rebound. For Portugal... well they're not really creating much, and when they are they're probably guilty of being overly elaborate. But there's another half to grab a goal still, and they won't be too worried just yet.
