Lyon Vs. Real Madrid, 2011 UEFA Champions League: Lineups

Stay connected with SB Nation

This is something like the 500th time Real Madrid are playing Lyon in the UEFA Champions League - they seem to come together every single year. Last time they faced off it was at the Santiago Bernabeu, a game which Real Madrid won 4-0. Don't expect that level of slaughter in France, but Madrid are the better team and should still win comfortably even with a rather weakened-looking central defence. The only real question is by how much Lyon will lose.

Lyon (4-4-2): Hugo Lloris; Dejan Lovren, Cris, Mouhamadou Dabo, Anthony Reveillere; Kim Kallstrom, Maxime Gonlalons, Campos, Jimmy Briand; Bafetimbi Gomis, Yoann Gourcuff.

Substitutes: Mathiue Valverde, Bakary Kone, Gueida Fofana, Alexandre Lacazette, Ishak Belfodil, Samuel Umtite, Sidy Kone.

Real Madrid (4-2-3-1): Iker Casillas, Fabio Coentrao, Pepe, Lassana Diarra, Sergio Ramos; Xabi Alonso, Sami Khedira; Angel Di Maria, Mesut Ozil, Cristiano Ronaldo; Karim Benzema.

Substitutes: Raul Albiol, Gonzalo Higuain, Mait Altintop, Antonio Adan, Estaban Granero, Jose Callejon, Raphael Varane.
