The longer this game goes on, the more it seems destined to be a draw. Chelsea have not made any more changes, while Liverpool's have been defensive or neutral in nature. Stewart Downing has come on for Maxi Rodriguez, more or less a like for like change except for the fact that Stewart Downing is left-footed and hugs the touchline. Chelsea are still the better side, but things have calmed down. That is until now.
In the 84th minute, Fernando Torres has entered the game for Didier Drogba. Torres has, as everyone knows, not gotten off to a wonderful start in his Chelsea career. Were he to score against this former club, we would have to read endless terrible columns about irony or the poetic nature of the goal or some other such nonsense. More would be written about that goal than Andre Villas-Boas' changes. And that's sad.
Also, Raul Meireles is on for Ramires! Yay!
