Arsene Wenger has named an 18-man squad for his team's Carling Cup quarterfinal match against Manchester City. In true Arsene Wenger before the cup final fashion, he's selected hardly any senior players and almost no first-choice players. Only three of the players in his squad are arguably first choice, and it is unlikely that all of them will start. Kids, kids, and more kids for the Gunners. Here's that team.
Arsenal 18-man squad: Lukasz Fabianksi, Vito Mannone, Thomas Vermaelen, Sebastien Squillaci, Oguzhan Ozyakup, Ignasi Miquel, Nico Yennaris, Laurent Koscielny, Johan Djourou, Emmanuel Frimpong, Francis Coquelin, Craig Eastmond, Andrey Arshavin, Yossi Benayoun, Gervinho, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Park Chu-Young, Marouane Chamakh.
Forgive me, but I have never even heard of Nico Yennaris. I have at least heard of the other 17 players in this team. Do I get a medal?
We'll have coverage of this and every Carling Cup game in our Carling Cup Quarterfinals StoryStream. For more on the two teams, check out Arsenal blog The Short Fuse and Manchester City blog Bitter and Blue. Head over to SB Nation Soccer for more around the entire world of football.
