A clash between Hannover and Schalke ended in a draw after Teemu Pukki scored a late second half equalizer.
The draw moves Hannover into 6th place in the table ahead of Stuttgart and Bayer Leverkusen. Schalke remains in 5th place.
Pukki started the scoring in the 26th minute when he beat the Hannover backline before pushing the ball past Ron-Robert Zieler and finding the back the back of the net. Unfortunately for Schalke, the lead would last only a few minutes. Christian Pander sent a free kick in toward Didier Ya Konan. Defender Kyriakos Papadopoulos lept over the Ivorian, but his header found the back of his own net.
There was a bit of controversey in the 42nd minute when Mohammed Abdellaoue was nearly free on goal but was tugged to the ground by Schalke midfielder Jermaine Jones. Abdellaoue demanded a red card, but referee Wolfgang Stark only produced a yellow.
Abdellaoue would scored after the break on a cross by Jan Schlaudraff to give Hannover the lead. Hannover continued to push their attack to put the victory out of reach, but it would be Schalke who leveled the score. Jefferson Farfan fed a pass into the box to Pukki, and the Finn put his shot just past Zieler to have the match finish even at 2.
