The United States U-17 side is currently playing a series of friendly matches in Florida and took on France on Wednesday. Below the jump is a video of the goal scored by forward DeAndre Robinson. It's an awesome, bending, near-post strike into the upper ninety. Watch it.
People score awesome goals in U-17 play all the time because the defending is usually very poor, but there's no taking away from this one. To quote Andy Gray, WHAT A HIT SON! And it got me thinking...could we see a bit of this from the senior side? Everyone on the senior USMNT looks consistently scared to pull the trigger.
Robinson plays for Concorde Fire, which is an elite youth club team in Atlanta. This tournament, the Albir Garden Sports Cup, is Robinson's first playing for the U-17s. The US U-17s continue their play in this tournament on Friday, with a game against Turkey. You can catch it at 5 pm ET on FOX Soccer Channel if you live in the USA.
