For weeks upon weeks, following a number of poor results, Chelsea and manager Andre Villas-Boas found themselves on the wrong end of a lot of criticism. That's since died down a bit, thanks to a couple of league wins and a spectacular performance against Valencia in a must-win UEFA Champions League match. The Blues' high line isn't taking the flak it was after the Liverpool loss, but the critics will be fully silenced if the Blues can find a way to defeat top of the table Manchester City.
City will be top of the table no matter what happens in this match, but Chelsea can move up all the way to third place with a win. The Blues will have to do without defender David Luiz, who was handed an automatic suspension after picking up his fifth yellow card last week. Other than Luiz, everyone else save for those dealing with previous long-term injuries is available for Chelsea. Manchester City also have a fairly clean bill of health and no one suspended, but will be without Micah Richards. Either Stefan Savic or Pablo Zabaleta will play right back in his place.
