Ezequiel Lavezzi has picked up a thigh injury, meaning he will miss at least the next four Napoli matches.

Just when Napoli fans thought it couldn't get any worse than drawing with Novara and losing to AS Roma, the news is now out that Ezequiel Lavezzi picked up a muscle problem in his right thigh on Sunday. The forward underwent tests on Monday morning and will miss at least a month -- which, alas, does not include the Serie A winter break.

No, the partenopei will be without the man who has arguably been their best performer for the next four matches. Considering the strength of the opposition, that wouldn't seem too big a deal, but with Napoli unable to work themselves up for matches against smaller clubs, the name on the other side of the "vs." barely matters.

El Pocho has been a driving force for this Napoli side, displaying his strength and agility week after week. He may not be the club's best finisher, but he's the best at creating space and chances. For the sake of Italy in the Champions League, Lavezzi best be fully recovered by mid-February.
