Tottenham Hotspur Vs. Bolton Wanderers, 2011 Premier League: Spurs Crush 10-Man Trotters

Bolton Wanderer's miserable form continued with a poor performance at White Hart Lane which saw the visitors go down to a Gareth Bale strike not six minutes in before losing England defender Gary Cahill to a straight red card shortly thereafter. The Trotters couldn't deal with Tottenham Hotspur beforehand - Bale's run on an early corner kick was completely untracked, allowing the Welsh winger to tap in Luka Modric's delivery - and Cahill's (harsh) dismissal for a foul on Scott Parker only compounded the visitors' misery.

It came as no surprise when Spurs nabbed more goals, with Aaron Lennon doing very well to turn and strike shortly after the start of the second half, and Jermaine Defoe wrapped things up ten minutes later to earn Tottenham a 3-0 win and all three points. After the opening, the win was never really in doubt. Bolton, on this evidence, are nowhere near good enough to stay up.
