FC Porto vs. Zenit St. Petersburg is one of the biggest UEFA Champions League matches on Tuesday, with both teams in control of their own destiny.
Manager Andre Villas-Boas departed FC Porto for Chelsea in the offseason, while striker Radamel Falcao left for Atletico Madrid. They were two massive blows, but things weren't supposed to be like this for Porto. They promoted Villas-Boas' assistant Vitor Pereira, purchased reinforcements, and kept a number of key players. They entered their UEFA Champions League group as favorites, but now must defeat Zenit St. Petersburg on the final day to go through to the knockout stages.
Zenit have been solid and steady once again under Luciano Spalletti and they need just a draw to go through. They're still without leading scorer Alexander Kerzhakov, but they've gotten by without him thus far. Both teams have a fairly clean bill of health and with the exception of Kerzhakov's absence, will be fielding their first teams.
