United States international Lee Nguyen says he has signed a contract with Major League Soccer. The Dallas native has been playing in Vietnam for the last three years after starting his professional career by signing with Holland's PSV Eindhoven in 2006. The 25-year-old midfielder has earned three caps for the United States, most recently during the 2007 Copa America.

Yep, you can spread the word. This upcoming season, I will be taking my talents to the MLS!!

News that Nguyen was close to coming to MLS first surfaced in November. At that time an article on MLSSoccer.com said that Nguyen's team would be decided by weighted lottery, an allocation process by which interested MLS teams are assigned a percentage chance of acquiring the player based on their 30 previous games played, with teams with a worse performance given a better chance of acquiring that player. A lottery is then held to determine which team will acquire the player's services. It's not clear when the lottery will be held.

Nguyen has played primarily attacking positions and scored 14 goals in 29 V-League matches. He was the highest paid pro athlete in Vietnam, the country of his parents' birth, last year. He reportedly made about $180,000.
