Barcelona will play a second team against BATE Borisov in the UEFA Champions League ahead of El Clasico
With the top spot in Group H clinched and El Clasico looming, FC Barcelona is expected to play a weakened team against BATE Borisov in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday. A number of teams have been called up to the team from Barcelona B and many will make Champions League debuts in the game. Stars Lionel Messi, Andres Iniesta and Xavi Hernandez are all expected to sit out.
This game is still a massive one for BATE, who will need all three points to have a chance to finish third in the group and progress to the UEFA Europa League. It won't be an easy task, as Barcelona's reserves are no pushovers. They'll have to deal with the likes of Spanish internationals Thiago Alcantara and Pedro Rodriguez.
