Manchester United Vs. Manchester City: Wayne Rooney Is Going To Score

The early minutes of the Manchester Derby have been more open than any handful of minutes from the first time United and City played (that doesn't mean better) and if one thing is clear it is that Wayne Rooney is going to grab himself a goal in this match. The striker has been active and lively in the early going and has gotten touches on the left, right and center already.

Rooney has found himself some open space already and one of his runs helped open space for Nani to come across to the center and let a hard shot go that has been United's best chance of the match. As Rooney's runs continue to create space for Nani and Anderson, the City back line will be forced to step forward and the organization at the back of the City defense could get shaky. That is when Rooney is going to pounce and put one in for the home side.

The only thing that could keep Rooney from notching one is the central midfield, which has been beaten routinely by a City midfield that looks much quicker. Sir Alex Ferguson might be regretting his choice to leave Michael Carrick on the bench.
