Manchester United Vs. Manchester City: Nani Puts United Up In 41st Minute

Around the 28th minute of the first half, Manchester United start to assert control over their match against Manchester City. Twelve minutes later, they had their reward, with the play who had been United's most dangerous opening the scoring. The the 40th minute at Old Trafford, a right-footed shot from Nani, in the middle of the area, beat Joe Hart to the `keeper's left, making it 1-0, Manchester United.

The goal was created when a long ball played to the edge of United's attacking third saw Joleon Lescott and Wayne Rooney elevate to meet it. The resulting ball went down and to Ryan Giggs, no the left of attack, who's first touch was to Nani, running in behind Lescott from the right wing. The Portuguese winger, with room on Pablo Zabaleta, opened his right foot onto his second touch, beating Hart into the right of net.

Now moments before half time, City has regained some of the impetus they lost near the half's mid-way mark. Still, the score demains 1-0, United.
