Just 10 minutes in and Blackpool's notoriously shaky defense has already let them down, with Gabriel Agbonlahor scoring the first goal of the match and his second on the season. Aston Villa won the ball in midfield through a sliding challenging by newcomer Jean Makoun, who immediately sent the ball to Nigel Reo-Coker. The midfielder then sent the ball through to Darren Bent, who spied Agbonlahor open on the left. The speedy now-winger took the ball past two Tangerine shirts before going around Blackpool goalkeeper Richard Kingson. Agbonlahor shot from a tight angle, sending the ball, almost in slow motion, across the line and into the far corner. Had the ball not been perfect, Bent was waiting at the far post to tap it in.
With Blackpool's propensity to attack, and Aston Villa's uncanny ability to lose a lead, one has to expect that this match has at least one, and probably more, goals left in it.
