Just four minutes after Aston Villa opened the scoring through a lovely goal by Gabriel Agbonlahor, Blackpool are back on level terms at Bloomfield Road, the score at 1-1 after 14 minutes. Charlie Adam sent in the corner, which Villa, who have been horrible this season when faced with set pieces, defended atrociously. Elliott Grandin got the better of the claret and blue, heading home from the near post.
Two minutes later, from open play this time, Marlon Harewood provided the through ball in to Luke Varney, who nodded just wide of the near post. The match is really end to end at this point, with both sides able to create plenty of chances, while the weakness in each defense almost guaranteeing that the score won't stay as is.
Carlos Cuellar, having finally fought his way back into the Villa side, has come off with a hamstring injury. The Seasiders now have an opportunity to test the strength of James Collins, who actually scored the winner against them in the reverse fixture.
