Roma Vs. Shakhtar Donetsk: Marco Boriello Inclusion, Simone Perotta Caution, But No Roma Goal

Things have gotten a little testy in Rome, near the 80th minute. The frustrations started with an aerial challenge contested by Rodrigo Taddei and Darijo Srna. The Brazilian attacker's left elbow appeared to come high and to the cheek of Srna, something the Croatian took exception to. Francesco Totti then got involved. Daniele de Rossi came up to have a word, and before all was finished, Simone Perrotta saw yellow.

In the 17 minutes that have spanned since Jeremy Menez's goal, that has been the highlight. Marco Boriello has come on for Mirko Vucinic, but it's made little difference. Shakhtar is showing more patience on the ball, more intent in defense, and as a result, the match has tightened up.

But that didn't prevent a Roma chance in the 82nd minute, Building-up play down their left, Roma generated a chance from 17 yards for Paolo Castellini to run onto. The left back's hot was pushed over the bar by Andriy Pyatov, leaving the match 3-2, Shakhtar in the final 10 minutes.
