Manchester City Vs. Reading, FA Cup: Jay Tabb Stops Reading Own Goal

Stay connected with SB Nation

The second half is underway, with no changes to either side, and almost immediately Jay Tabb saves a goal for Reading, the right back in just the right place after a very good (finally) Aleksander Kolarov corner, won by Shaun  Wright-Phillips, is flicked towards the far corner by Shane Long, who I imagine probably didn't mean to do that. Long issued profuse apologies and thanks to his teammate for bailing him out of an own goal.

As expected, Manchester City are still in the ascendancy, and they're coming even closer to scoring than they did in the first half - along with the near own-goal, Carlos Tevez has had three opportunities, mishitting two and shooting just wide from twenty yards several minutes later. There's got to be a goal coming soon, surely? Reading are really riding their luck now and still have more than half an hour to hold out for a replay.
