Arda Turan scored a stunning goal for Turkey in the 28th minute of their Euro 2012 qualifying match against Austria, but it's hardly the only difference between the two sides. Turkey have been superior in every aspect of the game, spending much of the first 45 minutes in Austria's third of the pitch and keeping the ball for nearly two-thirds of the period. Austria came out to defend and go for a clean sheet, and that decision has ultimately hurt them.
The visitors did have one great opportunity just minutes before the Turan goal, through David Alaba. The Turks had a quick lapse in judgment in the back, leaving Alaba with an open shot opportunity on the edge of the penalty area. Though Alaba is just 18 years old, anyone who's seen him play for Hoffenheim this season probably expected him to hit the target. Instead, Alaba's shot went well over the goal.
Austria are going to have to make some attacking changes if they want points out of this match. Marko Arnautovic is sitting on the bench, and it seems likely that he could replace a midfield player.
