Darren Fletcher Signs New Four-Year Contract With Manchester United

Capitalizing on his fantastic form over the last 18 months, Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher has signed a new four-year contract that will keep him at Old Trafford for the foreseeable future. Despite it being only early March, the Scottish international has already made 33 appearances in all competitions. Once a bench option who was considering a move away from United, Fletcher has rapidly developed into one of the team's most important players. Said Fletcher, about the deal:

"I take great pride in playing for Manchester United, I have won many trophies in my years playing here and I am looking forward to winning many more in the seasons to come. I would like to thank everyone at the club."

Since making his professional debut for Manchester United, Fletcher has won all five major trophies available for Manchester United to win: The Premier League, the FA Cup, the League Cup, the UEFA Champions League, and the Club World Cup.

Fletcher joins teammates Michael Carrick, Patrice Evra, and Ryan Giggs as United players to recently sign contract extensions.
