San Jose Earthquakes Vs. Toronto FC: Dawkins Saves Point For Quakes

The San Jose Earthquakes still can't buy three points at Buck Shaw Stadium this season. In three home games so far this season they are winless and last night they nearly lost their second game to Toronto FC. Had it not been for the heroics of Simon Dawkins, Toronto would have left the Bay Area with a huge win.

The Quakes went down early thanks to a goal from Alan Gordon. The goal came after a mistake in the back by former TFC midfielder Sam Cronin. Cronin headed back a ball played into the box and Gordon was there to finish it.

San Jose responded ten minutes later with Dawkins. The Tottenham loanee continued to show his worth to Frank Yallop as he slipt the defense and played a nice ball to last year's Golden Boot winner Chris Wondolowski, who then played the ball right back to Dawkins for the game-tying goal.

Both teams traded chances in the second half but neither were able to covert on them.
