Rio Ferdinand Stalker Found Guilty
A woman who turned up uninvited at former England captain Rio Ferdinand's Cheshire house three times in five months last year has been convicted of harassment by the Macclesfield magistrates court. Susanne Ibru, 38, had apparently woken Ferdinand and his wife at least twice in the early morning by using the intercom buzzer on the Manchester United star's front gate and claiming that she needed to speak to him, which was apparently a fairly unnerving experience for the defender:
Although Ms. Ibru was removed in that instance by the police, she returned twice more, leaving district judge Nicholas Sanders to conclude that she was quite plainly guilty of the charges leveled against her. She has not yet been sentenced, having left the court earlier that afternoon with an appropriately creepy "I'll see you soon, bye," directed towards the centre back.
Ferdinand reportedly had no idea why Ms. Ibru had come to see him so often, and it's not entirely clear why anyone would ever need to speak to him face-to-face considering his prolific social media output. If only Ms. Ibru had had a Twitter account, things would have been much easier for her.
