With five minutes left in the half, Barcelona finally has their first bit of sustained possession and pressure. Barca managed to earn two corners in succession but fail to generate a shot on goal before Madrid finally ends the pressure, earning a throw in on the near side.
Starting Özil was clearly the right decision for Mourinho as the German has troubled the Barcelona defense, giving Madrid dangerous options on both sides of the pitch. Özil and Ronaldo have interchanged all night, causing fits for the Barca back line.
Pepe beat Alves on the far post and his header completely catches Pinto unaware but rattles off the post. Again, a wonderful cross from Özil set-up the chance and Pepe will be regretting that he didn't do better with that chance.
Total domination from Real Madrid at this point as Barcelona are holding on by the skin of their teeth. Madrid will feel quite unlucky not have 2 or 3 goals at this point already.
