Before Lionel Messi went all Lionel Messi on us, David Villa had probably been the best attacking player on the pitch, but he's off now as Pep Guardiola rubs in his two-goal advantage. Sergio Roberto makes his first appearance in the Champions League and his second for the Barcelona first team, and the Santiago Bernabeu is pretty unhappy about the obvious insult.
Anyway, Madrid are charging around rather aimlessly right now. They're not going to score before the match is over, and they're at a real disadvantage going into the next leg, having to overturn a 2-0 home loss. At least they haven't been as bad as Schalke were in their defeat to Manchester United, but there's absolutely no way to spin this into a positive result. The red card changed everything, and now it looks like we're going to have yet another United-Barcelona final at Wembley in May.
