Colorado Rapids Vs. D.C. United: Santino Quaranta Gets Equalizer Out Of Nothing

D.C. United don't deserve to be level. The Colorado Rapids have been the better side and it's tough to argue otherwise so when United found an equalizer, it was shocking. Well, Santino Quaranta did the shocking as he found the back of the net thanks to some poor Rapids defending to level the match at 1-1. Now, Colorado will have to gather themselves and turn simple knocking the ball around and possession into a goal if they want to pick up all three points at home.

Chris Korb found space out on the right side for United and instead of closing him down, Colorado chose to drop deeper and take away the space close to goal. It would have worked out just fine if they would have marked up in doing so too. Instead, two defenders on the far side of the field in the box both decided to mark Dax McCarty, leaving Quaranta completely unmarked. To Quaranta's credit, he finished well with a first touch volleyed finish to equalize this match in the 70th minute.
