Philadelphia Union Vs. San Jose Earthquakes: Steven Lenhart Gets First Start

Steven Lenhart will make his long awaited starting debut for the San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday as they visit the Philadelphia Union. Lenhart will be joined in the starting lineup by another player making his starting debut, Anthony Ampaipitakwong, who will pair with Chris Wondolowski to form what is probably the longest names to ever play together as a starting midfield.

More seriously, Lenhart has been hurt much of the year and made his debut last week. The Quakes had acquired him from the Columbus Crew hoping that he would help diversify their scoring that was almost entirely dependent on Wondolowski a season ago. From the look of it, Frank Yallop is switching to more of a 4-4-2 to accommodate Lenhart.

Union starters: Mondragon; Harvey, Califf, Valdes, Williams; Daniel, Okugo, Torres, Le Toux; Ruiz, Mwanga. Bench: MacMath, Nakazawa, Mapp, Richter, M. Farfan, McInerney, Miglioranzi.

Earthquakes starers: Busch, Leitch, Hernandez, Burling, Morrow, Wondolowski, McDonald, Ring, Ampai, Sealy, Lenhart. Bench: Weber, Opara, Corrales, Convey, Cronin, Stephenson, Johnson.
