'Rise And Shine: The Jay DeMerit Story', A Tale For The Big Screen

If you follow the United States National Team, you're probably aware of Jay DeMerit's rise from through the lower levels of the English football leagues to the Premiership and to the World Cup. You probably know that it's the kind of story about which movies are made. Now, "Rise and Shine: The Jay DeMerit Story" does just that.

The independently made documentary details DeMerit's improbable rise and, at least from all the footage I've seen, looks to be impeccably done. The movie is not just about DeMerit, it really seems to follow him in his daily life. It was given the "Rising Star Award" at the Canada International Film Festival and is now making the rounds at various other festivals. It's the kind of movie that could very well end up following a similar path as its subject.

If you're a fan of football, this really looks like a must-see movie. The trailer is below, and you can find more information about the film at the website.
