The Colorado Rapids and FC Dallas are going in opposite directions heading into their MLS Cup rematch tonight. The Rapids are leading the league standings with nine points after three games while FC Dallas is at the bottom of the standings with just a single point.
Colorado will lean on strikers Omar Cummings, Caleb Folan and midfielder Jamie Smith against a Dallas defense that has been leaky to start the season. The Rapids defense will face it's toughest test to date though, even though Dallas only has one Milton Rodriguez goal to their name this season.
This game will be won (or lost) in the midfield as both teams like to maintain possession for long spells at a time. The big question for Dallas tonight is who will start behind David Ferreira in the midfield. Eric Alexander started the season behind him only to see Jackson Goncalves replace him a week ago against the Columbus Crew. With Jackson suspended we may see FCD manager Schellas Hyndman turn to Andrew Jacobson for the linking midfielder role.
Look for Dallas to keep a young core of their attack together for this one with Ruben Luna up top with either Brek Shea or Marvin Chavez one one wing and newcomer Fabian Castillo on the other.
