Relegation Sunday: Wolverhampton Goal Moves Them To 17th

Brett Omerod has just missed a decent opportunity to pull a goal back for Blackpool at Old Trafford, but it would probably have been too little too late anyway. Still 4-2 against Manchester United and the loveable seasiders are almost certainly going down. Can't say they're not having a real go of it though.

Birmingham City, meanwhile, have had the thrill of going level with Tottenham somewhat tempered by the fact that results elsewhere now see them in 18th, which is leaving the fans somewhat unhappy. 1-1 at White Hart Lane, with Birmingham now needing a win if scores elsewhere don't change.

Wigan Athletic remain 1-0 up over Stoke, a result which would guarantee their survival and add yet another year to their series of miraculous escapes from the clutches of relegation. They seem to be pretty comfortable too.

Wolverhampton are still losing against Blackburn, but they are no longer in the relegation zone. Stephen Hunt's gorgeous goal from a Stephen Fletcher flick eluded Paul Robinson and sends Wolves ahead of Birmingham in the table by the fainted of margins - they're even on goal differential and points but ahead on goals scored.
