Bundesliga Transfer Rumors: Ex-Hamburg Goalkeeper Frank Rost To New York Red Bulls?

Major League Soccer's New York Red Bulls are looking to acquire ex-Hamburg goalkeeper Frank Rost according to this report out of Germany. Rost held down the starting position at Hamburg since his transfer there in January 2007, playing in 150 of their 153 Bundesliga matches.

Rost, 38, just saw his contract with Hamburg expire at the end of the 2010-2011 season and has not attracted much interest from other Bundesliga clubs. Current Red Bull Sporting Director Erik Soler played for Hamburg during his playing career, and he has been in contact with colleagues in the Hamburg area about bringing Rost to New York.

The Red Bulls have had no luck at goalkeeper this season. Canada international Greg Sutton and Senegal international Bouna Coundoul have struggled tremendously to show any kind of quality behind a back line featuring Mexico international Rafa Marquez and USA international Tim Ream. Adding a veteran goalkeeper with the ability of Rost would boost the Red Bulls chances at their ultimate goal of MLS Cup.

Bundesliga Transfer Rumors: Papiss Demba Cisse to Blackburn Rovers?

SC Freiburg star forward Papiss Demba Cisse could be on his way to the English Premier League. The Mirror is reporting that Blackburn Rovers manager Steven Kean is prepared to make a £12 million offer for his services. The rumored transfer fee would break Blackburn's previous transfer fee of £8m in 2001 to Manchester United for Andrew Cole.

The Senegalese forward scored 22 goals this past season with Freiburg. He finished second in the golden boot race. His 22 goals were the most ever by an African player breaking Ghana's Tony Yeboah's record of 20 goals scored for Eintracht Frankfurt in 1993.

His strike rate for Senegal has been great. In a total of nine appearances he has scored seven goals. This includes a hat trick in a recent 2012 Africa Cup of Nations match against the island nation of Mauritius.

Cisse, 26, has also been linked with a move to VFL Wolfsburg and Dynamo Kyiv.

Bundesliga Transfer Rumors: Wolfsburg And Schalke After Christian Trasch

According to Bild, Wolfsburg and Schalke are after Stuttgart midfielder Christian Träsch. Bayer Leverkusen have also shown interest

Träsch's current contract runs through the end of next season, and he has turned down a 5 year extension offered by Stuttgart. It is obvious that the Germany midfielder does not plan on staying past the end of next season in Stuttgart. The club will struggle to hold on to Träsch this summer, as his great form in the 2010-2011 season saw him shine in the eyes of many.

Stuttgart's Director of Sport Fredi Bobic told Bild that offers have already been received for Träsch, but they were so low that the club dismissed them immediately. It is believed they will be looking for around €10 million for the midfielder. The club is not giving up hope in resigning Träsch, however. Resigning him to an extension remains one of their top priorities for the summer.

Bayern Munich Transfer Rumors: Jerome Boateng Apparently Agrees Deal With Bayern

Jerome Boateng left the Bundesliga last summer, but it doesn't sound like he's much longer for the Premier League, having found himself blocked at centre back by Vincent Kompany, shunted to an unfavourable position in right back, and then blocked there by Micah Richards. It's enough to make a boy pine for his homeland, and that's apparently exactly what he's doing in attempting to engineer a deal with Bayern Munich.

It is true that I have agreed with Bayern on a four-year deal. Now it is up to [Manchester City] to make it work. At the moment they are making things a bit difficult.

My dream is to have a starting spot within a year, hopefully at Bayern, and then I want to win the European championship. It is about the position. Bayern want me as a central defender. That is also an advantage for the national team.

Munich, of course, would be a better fit for Boateng than Manchester City would be, but it's a little unclear as to just how he has agreed a deal with Bayern if City won''t agree to anything. It's a weird story, but something to keep an eye on. One wonders just how this will all turn out, but it would be a big surprise if Boateng started next season with Roberto Mancini, David Silva et al.

Bundesliga Transfer Rumors: Grafite On His Way to Al-Ahli (Dubai)

Wolfsburg striker Grafite appears to be on his way to the Middle East. According to Kicker, the Brazilian international is being lined up by Dubai club Al-Ahli.

Grafite is still under contract for another season at the Volkswagen Arena, so the Dubai-based club must pay a transfer fee. Welt Online is reporting that the transfer fee for Grafite would be €3 million.

Wolfsburg bought Grafite, 32, in the summer of 2007 for €5.6 million from Le Mans. The club were crowned Bundesliga champions for the first time in the 2008-2009 season. During that season, Grafite scored a league high 28 goals. His remarkable tally would see him named German Football of the Year becoming just the third foreign player to win the award. Grafite would see his goal totals dwindle drastically in the following two seasons. In 2009-2010, he only scored 11 goals, and in 2010-2011 he only managed 9 goals.

The deal is for a reported two years, but there has been no salary figures released. The transfer is not finalized at this point, but all signs point to it becoming official in the upcoming days.

Bundesliga Transfer Rumors: Chelsea Defender Michael Mancienne Undergoing Medical At Hamburg SV

According to a report from Sky Sports, Chelsea defender/midfielder Michael Mancienne has been given permission to leave Stuart Pearce's England U-21 training camp to head to Hamburg, where he will undergo a medical with Hamburg SV. No terms of a deal between HSV, Chelsea, and the player have been disclosed at this point, but Mancienne is believed to be close to signing a four-year deal with the German Bundesliga club.

Mancienne has performed fairly well on loan with Wolverhampton Wanderers over the last two seasons, but appears to have little to no future in the first team at parent club Chelsea FC. As a result, this is probably an excellent career move for the young defender. It's unclear whether HSV see Mancienne's future as a central defender or as a defensive midfielder; he has played both positions to some degree of success in his career.

HSV are still said to be in hot pursuit of Chelsea central midfielder Josh McEachran, who the Blues would certainly only let leave on a loan deal at this point in time.

Bundesliga Transfer Rumors: Hamburg Want To Sign Chelsea's Michael Mancienne and Josh McEachran

Hamburg are trying to complete a double signing of Chelsea duo Michael Mancienne and Josh McEachran.

Frank Arnesen was hired by Hamburg as their sporting director on February 20, 2011. He previously held the same position at Chelsea from June 2005 through November 2010. Arnesen is believed to be targeting several English Premier League players that he's had previous experience with while in England.

Mancienne, 23, played very few matches for the Chelsea first team since his signing in 2006. He has spent the majority of that time on loan with Queens Park Rangers and Wolverhampton Wanderers. First team opportunities have not been in the cards for Mancienne, and he's expected to sign a three to four year contract with Hamburg. The transfer deal is expected to be around €2-3 million.

The deal for young McEachran, 18, is a bit more complicated. McEachran just made his debut for the Chelsea first team in November 2010. He would make 17 first team appearances int he 2010-2011 season, including becoming the first player born after the inception of the competition to take part in it. It was decided that McEachran's performances earned him a long term extension with the club. While he was at Chelsea, Arnesen was unable to reach an agreement with McEachran, and the club has had no luck since without a sporting director in place. Arnesen has used Chelsea's lack of a sporting director and now a manager to make a move for McEachran.

Bundesliga Transfer Rumors: Borussia Dortmund Signing Ivan Perisic

Bundesliga Champions Borussia Dortmund are on the verge of signing Club Brugge forward Ivan Perisic, 22, according to reports out of Germany. The deal is expected to be around €5.5 million.

The Croatian International led the Belgian Pro League in scoring this season with 22 goals. He was voted by his peers as the player of the year in Belgium. Perisic told the Club Brugge website "Next to my title as top scorer this is a nice award, which I also have to thank my team-mates and coaches at Club Brugge for. I am happy to be able to leave the club in such a good way, it was an important period in my career, thank you all."

The signing of Perisic will be the second of the summer for Dortmund. They have already signed İlkay Gündoğan from Nürnberg. Both players will be attempting to alleviate the loss of Nuri Şahin who left Dortmund to sign with Spanish giants Real Madrid.

Bundesliga Transfer Rumors: Rafinha To Sign For Bayern

According to Bild, Genoa right back Rafinha, 25, will soon be back in the German Bundesliga. However, this time he will be suiting up for Bayern Munich.

The Brazilian right back made the switch to Serie A just last summer in a €9 million transfer from Schalke to Genoa. Rafinha favors a move back to Germany, and it does appear that Genoa president Enrico Preziosi is willing to let him go back at a reduced rate. According to the report, Bayern are currently offering €5 million and Genoa are wanting €7 million. It is expected that a deal will be reached sometime next week.

The addition of Rafinha would mean that Philipp Lahm would be moving to left back from his preferred right back position. Lahm has played their previously and will likely make the move without a complaint.

Bayern's previous fullback target was Benfica left back Fabio Coentrao. Bayern, however, felt that his quoted €30 million price tag was far too hefty.
