What a goal by David Villa! That's 3-1 and probably game over after a ludicrous piece of defending sees Michael Carrick first block the ball and then smack it hard enough into Nani so as to be uncontrollable. The ball bounces straight into Sergio Busquets in the Manchester United penalty area. Whoops. Busquets seemed amused by this disastrous decision, laying the ball off to David Villa at the top of the box, who duly hammered home past Edwin van der Sar.
Nani, incidentally, had just come on for Fabio da Silva, with Antonio Valencia shifting to right back to accommodate him. It wasn't the best of introductions. Wayne Rooney tried to get United back into the game with a curling shot shortly thereafter, but it lands on top of Victor Valdes' net rather than in it, which isn't really very useful at all.
