Velez Sarsfield and Banfield are scoreless at halftime in their Argentine Primera match, but not for a lack of effort by the home side. Velez have been the team on the front foot for most of the first half, but they haven't been able to break down the door. Most of the best opportunities for both teams came in the first 25 minutes of the half, with Banfield goalkeeper Enrique Bologna making three saves in that period. It was Banfield who had the best opportunity of the half, though, as Mauro Dos Santos hit the crossbar with a header off of a corner kick in the first minute of the game.
Though they don't want to risk their stars ahead of Copa Libertadores, Velez might want to protect their domestic title interests by bringing star attacking midfielder Maxi Moralez off the bench. They could use a little bit of a punch right now, as their best opportunities came at the beginning of the first half, and Moralez would certainly provide that.
