Manchester City are favourites to sign Chilean winger Alexis Sanchez, according to Udinese president Gianpaolo Pozzo, with Barcelona and Inter Milan no longer in pole position. In fact, there's a very good chance that Sanchez doesn't leave Udinese at all, with Pozzo saying it's 50/50 whether or not his prize asset leaves. If he does go, however, City are the prime candidates to land him:
Inter, Juve, Barca and Manchester City are all interested in him... I think there is a 50% chance that he will stay in Udine. However, if he was to leave, I would say City have the highest probability of success.
Concrete offers regarding the real value of the player have not arrived yet. We did speak to Inter but we have not spoken to them since to reach an agreement. Things are nevertheless done at the last minute.
Sanchez is regarded (and rightly so) as one of the top wide attackers in the game today, and at 22 years old any team acquiring him now will have him through the prime of his career. He'll cost an arm and a leg, but there's a very real chance that he's the best player to move clubs all summer. This transfer saga is going to be extremely interesting.
