If a game ends scoreless and almost no one was around to see it, can we just pretend it never happened? There were probably more than a few fans of the New England Revolution and Toronto FC who were wondering that very thing as the two struggling teams played to a 0-0 tie in front of an announced crowd of 6,680 people, the lowest of the MLS season.
With the Boston Bruins playing in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals, a small crowd was probably to be expected, but the quality of the two teams surely played a factor as well. The Revolution came in having lost four straight, while Toronto FC had not won in their past six. Both teams created some chances, but neither was able to capitalize. Rajko Lekic, who came to the Revolution with so much expectations, missed a wide open chance on goal and has now gone eight straight games without a goal or an assist.
