Juventus Make Loan Signing of Fabio Quagliarella And Three Others Permanent

With the deadline for co-ownership deals looming, suddenly clubs are getting their budgets in order, buying players outright and making loan signings permanent. Juventus apparently decided it was best to drop a wad of cash all at once, and paid €37.25m to cement the presence of Fabio Quagliarella, Alessandro Matri, Simone Pepe and Marco Motta. Well, cement the signing of the players until they're picked up by another club, of course. Most Juve fans are still hoping that Motta won't be taking the pitch for them this season.

Although Juventus had a disappointing last season, ultimately finishing seventh, there's hope that Quagliarella, at the least, can help bring them back to their winning ways. Signed from his native Napoli at the start of last season, the striker got off to a brilliant start before getting injured in the first match after the winter break. That's when the bianconeri picked up Matri from Cagliari. In his second appearance in the Juventus shirt, the loanee scored a brace against his former club. By the end of the season, the young Matri was starting to look a bit worn out, but he'll almost certainly continue to improve, making him a wise buy for Juve. Plus, even if he doesn't score, they can likely earn a profit by loaning him out to a Maybelline ad campaign, making him at least more valuable than Amauri.
