DaMarcus Beasley Signs With Mexico's Puebla

DaMarcus Beasley has finally found a home, and it's in Mexico with Puebla. The team announced the signing on Wednesday. Although Beasley had a year remaining on his contract with Bundesliga side Hannover 96, it's unclear whether or not a transfer fee was involved.

Ever since leaving MLS as a rising United States star in 2004, Beasley has bounced around quite a bit. He spent the first couple seasons with Dutch side PSV Eindhoven where he scored 10 goals in his first year. Since then he has made stops in England, Scotland and Germany never really doing much at the club level. Since that first year with Eindhoven, the speedy outside mid has scored more than four goals in a season just once. 

More frustratingly, he hasn't even made as many as 20 competitive appearances in a season since 2005-06. All the while, his spot on the national team has grown more and more insecure. Although he made the 2010 World Cup team, he made only one appearance. After earning 12 caps in 2008-09, he has donned the U.S. jersey just seven times ever since. Most recently, he was left off the U.S. Gold Cup team.

There had been some hope among MLS fans that he would return to his domestic league, but it's unclear if he really wanted to play here or even if there was much interest.
