No player has spent more time in a Seattle Sounders uniform than Roger Levesque. His days in Seattle date back to 2003 when he played with the team in the USL. He has been and always will be a fan favorite. His goal celebration in Thursday's 4-2 win over the New York Red Bulls promises to take it to another level, though (the animation comes courtesy of Sounder at Heart commenter Brian L):
It's not exactly clear what inspired the celebration, but after the game Levesque said he and teammate Mike Fucito had been working on it together. You really got to hand it to him for both creativity and commitment. There are a lot of professional soccer players will to put themselves out there quite like that.
One possible source of inspiration may have been the "Date with a Sounder" commercials that have been playing in Seattle for about a month. In that video, Levesque said his goal celebration was a "pirate face," which I suppose is at least nautically themed. It appears he used that one, too.
