Glasgow Rangers Confirm USMNT Midfielder Alejandro Bedoya Will Join In January

Alejandro Bedoya stated on his twitter page that he had agreed to a deal to sign with Glasgow Rangers in the Scottish Premier League on Thursday, and the club have now confirmed that, stating that he has agreed to a deal, subject to a work permit, and that he will join the club in January.

The deal is likely being delayed until January because of the Swedish Allsvenskan's schedule, which runs from April to October and is off during the winter. Orebro aren't willing to let one of their first choice players go just yet, as they're struggling at the moment in 11th place out of 16 teams. They are currently 12 points behind a European place and five points above the relegation places.

Rangers are in serious need of a right midfielder, the position that Bedoya is most likely to be slotted into when he arrives in Glasgow. They're strong in the center of midfield with internationals like Steven Davis and American Maurice Edu, but they're seriously lacking in quality out wide. This means that Bedoya will have a very good chance at starting from the get go at Ibrox.
