One of the frequent criticisms of Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger centers on his inability to find quality defenders with consistency. In Carl Jenkinson, transferred to the Gunners from Charlton in June, Wenger at least has a back with some scoring touch.↵
Just, you know, not on the right goal. Jenkinson, attempting a clearance, instead punted the ball beautifully over goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny's dive.↵
Arsenal still led this game with Germany's FC Koln, 2-1, after Jenkinson's error, and Jenkinson is a promising defender who could turn out to be more like Laurent Koscielny or other good Wenger finds. But this moment certainly gives wags a chance to rag on Wenger a bit more.↵
