Between Arsenal defeating Udinese, Lyon defeating Rubin earlier today, and Trabzonspor being named Fenerbahce's replacement, the entire group stage for the UEFA Champions League is now filled out and the draw will take place tomorrow. Besides Arsenal, three more teams advanced out of the late afternoon games.
Benfica 3-1 Twente (Benfica advance 5-3 on aggregate)
The first half between Benfica and Twente wasn't terribly thrilling, but the hosts seriously turned on the style in the second half. New signing Axel Witsel opened the scoring shortly after the half began with an overhead kick on a set piece, then later completed his brace after Luisao scored Benfica's second. Bryan Ruiz netted in the 85th because Benfica are incapable of keeping clean sheets.
SK Sturm Graz 0-2 BATE Borisov (BATE advance 3-1 on aggregate)
After getting a score draw in Bulgaria last week, Sturm Graz were favorites to advance over BATE. Instead, they fell flat on their faces at home in Austria as BATE played themselves into the last 32 once again.
Viktoria Plzen 2-1 FC Copenhagen (Plzen advance 5-2 on aggregate)
And now for the most disappointing team of the round, FC Copenhagen. Despite their fantastic showing in last year's tournament and during their domestic football season, they got absolutely smacked over the course of 180 minutes by Plzen, including a 3-1 loss at home last week. Something tells me Zanka won't be getting a big money move in the near future.
