UPDATE: It is now official, Hope Solo cast on "Dancing With The Stars."
Not to read too much into what appears to be a typo on a gossip site, but it sure looks like U.S. Women's World Cup star Hope Solo is going to be on the next season of ABC's "Dancing With the Stars." DWTSGossip tweeted out what they said was the list of participants in Season 13 of the highly rated program, and among the names was one "Hope Solis."
Now, a quick Google search will tell you that there is no such celebrity as "Hope Solis," so unless "DWTS" is suddenly casting random people on their show, it's safe to say that was a typo. And while Hope might not be the most unique name in the world, it would certainly seem that it was supposed to say "Hope Solo."
For what it's worth, this season will also include NBA star Ron Artest, who should be one of the more interesting athletes to ever appear on the show.
But, who are we kidding? You want to know about Solo. The official word will apparently come out Monday night, and during something called "Bachelor Pad," and you can bet that you'll be hearing a whole lot more about the world's best female goalkeeper.
The 30-year-old has long been a lightning rod for attention in the world of soccer, and this will likely take her star status into a new stratosphere. Her free speaking ways and good looks have long garnered her attention that reached beyond her status as a female sports star, and there's a good chance that the rest of America will soon learn to love or hate her just as the soccer community has.
The smart money is certainly on love.
