After losing Samuel Eto'o to Russian side Anzhi, it was clear Inter Milan needed to add a few attacking options to make up for the loss of a forward capable of scoring thirty goals a season. Realizing they couldn't make up for the loss of Eto'o with just one player, the nerazzurri have decided to cobble together bits and pieces to find the goals necessary to challenge AC Milan for the title. First they brought in Diego Forlan from Atletico Madrid. Now they've signed Mauro Zarate on loan from Lazio, with a hope to make the Argentine a permanent fixture in the squad.
Zarate has been, shall we say, inconsistent for Lazio, but toward the end of last season, he seemed to be finding his rhythm, closing out the year with a brace against Lecce. Yet rumors persisted that Lazio were keen to find a new home for the attacker -- but will Inter be just another stop on Zarate's way to settling down?
