According to various reports that cite information from both Mallorca and Villarreal, Jonathan De Guzmán will join Villarreal this season for €8 million. This finally puts to rest a relatively long-standing flirtation between the Yellow Submarine and De Guzmán, who scored Mallorca's match-winning goal last week against Espanyol. De Guzmán is a strong central midfielder with a good deal of scoring ability, and he should add some pop to Villarreal's central midfield.
"El Rifle" Walter Pandiani will sign for RCD Espanyol, according to sources close to the club. The 35 year-old Uruguayan striker just finished his contract at Osasuna, and the Catalan club scooped him up for free. This transfer should put an end to the speculation that Espanyol will make a move for El Hamdaoui, Ajax's talented Moroccan striker, who they had been courting for the past few weeks. Espanyol are also hot in pursuit of Sevilla's Romaric to iron out their center midfield, though this has not been confirmed by either club.
Granada have announced, along with the signing of Uche earlier today, the incorporation of 30 year-old center defensive midfielder Moisés Hurtado from Greek club Olympiacos. Apparently, Olympiacos' newly-signed center midfielder Pablo Orbáiz paved the way for Hurtado's exit back to Spain.
