And there's the goal that Barcelona have been seeking. Pedro may have knocked in the final ball, but the goal was created by -- who else -- Lionel Messi. Barcelona's football god has been persistent, hitting the post from a free kick and feeding the ball through only for his attempts to be knocked down by the stalwart AC Milan defense. But at some point, Messi was going to get through, and in the 34th, he took the ball from the halfway line up through the Milan defense. He easily sped through the players before finding Pedro, lurking in space by the far post. A perfect pass and all Pedro needed to do was tap it in.
And so it's a more comfortable scoreline for Barcelona now, with Alexandre Pato's opening goal now neutralized. Milan should look to press forward more, attempting to find another away goal, rather than simply pouring all their men behind the ball.
