Barcelona Vs. AC Milan, 2011 UEFA Champions League: David Villa Gives Barcelona The Lead

Stay connected with SB Nation

And we're back for the second half of AC Milan's visit to Barcelona. In the opening minutes of the half, Pato has already had a chance at the Barcelona goal, while at the other end, substitute Cesc Fabregas has had a go on Christian Abiatti's goal.

But then it was David Villa who banged in the go-ahead goal for the home side. He'd already stung the hands of Abbiati, forcing the keeper to concede a corner. The pressure on Milan showed in the reaction of Antonio Cassano, who crashed into the back of David Villa and conceded a free kick -- a dangerously stupid move from the forward. Sure enough, that kick floated over the heads of the Milan wall and curled past Abbiati's outstretched palm. Barcelona 2-1 Milan.
